ABIT JOINED THE WAVE of vendors announcing Springdale products after the iron curtain of the NDA lifted earlier today.

Abit definitely wants its overclocking flag back, and this board may be a good way to get it. The mobo is called the IS7 and may reach and pass a magnificent 1GHz FSB overclocked. That's what Anand says and that confirms Abit's claims. It will even go faster than that, he reckons.

The IS7-G will give you three Firewire, eight USB 2.0, 3COM Gigabit LAN, S-ATA 150 and Optical SPDIF In/Out as well as usual dual DDR 400 support, AGP8X, FSB 800 CPUs. this board also features Dual Serial ATA RAID 0/1, 4 Phase Power, FanEQ and the GigaSystem Overclock.

You can get up to eight drives on this board 4 parallel and 4 serial ones and the serial 2 adaptor that lets you connect your IDE drive to S ATA post now supports cool feature such as hot plug and CD and DVD drive support as well. ยต
