Sun's Schwartz puts up geology pics

Rock, front and back
Wednesday, 11 April 2007, 14:02
SUN GOT ROCKS back from the fab, and Jonathan Schwartz put up some pics on his blog.

The short story is that it has 2395 pins, 16 cores and at least two threads per core.

The rest is short on the details you want to know, and slightly longer on trivia. There are 812 signal pins, 1514 power, and the rest are unused. The chip will support 256TB of Ram, or 48 bits of addressing, par for the modern 64-bit course.

Other than that, not much more to say, it is pretty, and says UltraSPARC RK, something that is bound to change by production. This is going to be an interesting chip. ยต
