HD 2400 is slower than 8400GS

65 nanometre doesn't suck power, it sucks performance

THE TIME FOR arrival of the lowest end cards from Red Team is approaching fast, and slowly performance figures are starting to appear.

Nvidia will counter AMD's own HD 2400 chips with GeForce 8400, bound for introduction on June 19th.

It seems that in a head to head comparison, Nvidia might have a winner, since 8400GS running at 450/400 (GPU: RAM in DDR mode) will score around 1600 3DMarks 06, while HD 2400 Pro at 520 MHz for the GPU and 500 MHz for the memory will barely score 1250 3DMarks.

The test system was not disclosed to us, but we will do our best to provide independent test results as soon as possible.

The guilty party for preliminary 3DMark06 score is an array of 40 superscalar units, or eight groups. of texture units and ROPs are cut down to four each, so there will not be more than four pixels produced per clock. FUD Wars, welcome back. µ
