Security risk
Wed Mar 14 2007, 10:19
ANTI VIRUS firm Sophos said that from next week corporations using its software can block people from "playing" Second Life on work PCs.

It surveyed 450 system admins and of those, 90 per cent wanted to be able to block the unauthorised use of games at work. Sophos claimed Second Life is opening the world+dog to a new set of IT security threats.

It claimed hackers have already targeted Second Life - last September a databased was stolen containing info about 650,000 people it said.

A fair number of corporations already maintain a presence on Second Life - including Dell, AMD, IBM and Reuters. µ
