AMD offers promo box chip pricing

And Bell Micro prizes for US

STRAIGHT FROM phasing in its green version of the XP 2100+, the firm is telling its system integrators and resellers of a special offer.

The firm is selling its "AMD Processor in a Box" (PIB) for the same price as the equivalent tray processor price when bought through AMD authorised distributors, it said.

The AMD PIB products come with a three year warranty as well as a fan and a heatsink and the reason for the offer is because of the changes to its packaging that we reported earlier in the year.

The firm said the offer will last until the end of this year - but integrators have to buy product through the distributors.

And there's a listing of those distributors here.

The firm has also told its US integrators that if they buy a so-called PIB and WinXP on the same invoice, AMD is offering a chance of winning $1,000 credit at Bell Micro - with five of those prizes up for grabs.

That promotion only lasts until March 21st of 2002, it told the US integrators. µ
