Nvidia shows Quad 7950 GX2 at minus 80 Celsius

Games Convention 2006 Pumps Conroe to 4.95 GHz

Nvidia has a small presence at the Games Convention in Leipzig and not too much to show off.

It did show two 7950 GX2 cards on a Conroe setup and MSI board, phase-change cooled to minus 80. We don't know what the maximum clock sped of the card as the Nvidian didn't want to tell us. But we saw Conroe working at 4.95GHz.

Nvidia was after the 3Dmark06 record at 1920x1200 resolution but we didn't stay long enough to see the final score. There is not much else the company wanted to show off. as the 7950GX2 will stay the fastest card for weeks to come. This one still beats ATI's new X1950XTX card but it is at least $100 more expensive.

We had a picture of this beast system, it is of course only to show off, but people didn't complain.
