Rackable strikes deal with AMD over Intel documents

Backups backed up
Tue Sep 06 2005, 08:02
RACKABLE and AMD have struck a deal to preserve documents, conversations, and other materials relating to business it has done with CPU supplier Intel.

The firm said in a filing to the court presiding over an antitrust case AMD started against Intel that it will deliver a "litigation hold" to custodians Tom Barton, Giovanni Coglitore, Nikolai Gallo, Tom Gallivan, and Colette LaForce.

Rackable also said it will preserve backups of email, shared network files, and other shared data files the custodians hold.

It will also preserve on disk or tape all of its microprocessor procurement databases and keep backups of these and other databases.

Many other firms sent subpoenas by AMD have still not filed a legal response, although NEC has made strenuous objections to the whole process. ยต
