Symantec confirms Vontu acquisition

Data loss prevention for $350 mill
Mon Dec 03 2007, 16:34

INSECURITY OUTFIT, Symantec Corp. said it has completed its acquisition of Vontu , a data loss prevention (DLP) firm.

Symantec said it paid $350 million for Vontu, to be paid in cash and assumed options.

Vontu's data loss wizardry will worm its way into Symantec’s "Security 2.0" vision, which, as far as we can tell, mostly means scaring people into buying stuff to protect themselves with. µ
