Gates slags off the iPod

THE SPIRITUAL and temporal ruler of Microsoft Sir William Gates III has mentioned a cunning plan to unseat Apple from its dominance of the portable jukebox market.

King Billy said that Vole and its hardware partners will develop new digital media devices aimed at challenging the dominance of Apple's iPod music player.

Gates said that he didn't think what was on the market today was the final answer and he thinks that him and his mates can come up with something better. He promised some "pretty hot" products over the next few years.

He praised Apple's iTunes music store, but said that Vole wanted to come up with something that was less expensive, easier to connect, and handled pictures and video better.
