Court allows Intel to subpoena ATI

Samsung quotes Hague Convention, refuses subpoena
Wed Aug 16 2006, 09:07
THE COURT presiding over the AMD antitrust case against Intel has given it permission to subpoena ATI.

While Intel was late filing the subpoena, AMD didn't oppose the request. Intel wants to investigate the implications AMD's proposed buy of ATI will have on the case.

Meanwhile, Latin American distributor Intcomex has filed an objection to a subpoena issued to it by AMD.

And Samsung filed a motion in a Texas court to squish a subpoena it received. It claimed the subpoena wasn't properly served and serving it on a security guard at its Austin office should have been served on Samsung Electronics Co Ltd.

Samsung said in its filing the subpoena "improperly seeks to reuire the production of Korean documents in the US". Samsung said the subpoena breaches the Hague Convention on the taking of evidence. µ
