HP to can HP/UX? Intel pulls out of IA-64 prematurely?

Milk shakes alive!

SAY WHAT you will about HP, it sure makes a nice milk shake, and I so enjoyed the one I slurped my way through yesterday.

Was quietly drinking when I heard someone say that HP/UX would soon be in the past tense, while Linux is the bee's bananas.

That's either RedHat or SuSE and the Novell Banshees for a development environment.

Gnome and Bash. Sheesh!

I almost choked when I heard the guys use the swearword "Itanic" instead of Itanium, now that demand for Opterons is an AmericanHot topic.

Intel has pulled the plug on some of the future Itanic plans with HP, much to the PA-RISC guys' disgruntlement as it "re-aligns" its future strategy.

That's kind of pushing Carly in the direction of Hector once again, although HP will look at Intel's "variant" when it emerges.

As the milkshake splattered everywhere because of this new news, I was patted on the back by a worried Jane, and I headed for the fresh air, still shell shocked. µ
