LCD DISPLAY MAESTRO Viewsonic has announced that it has consolidated its market position for the fourth quarter of 2006 - breaking previous records.

Viewsonic said it has almost doubled its market share during 2006's last quarter, that's 19.2 per cent versus the 9.8 per cent in quarter three. The company seems chuffed, also having leaped up to number seven in the branded LCD market in local regions, which is up two places from number nine at the end of 2005.

LCD products by Viewsonic have reached the number one spot in Greece, Finland, Norway, Estonia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom, not to mention being the number one branded in spain with an over 60 per cent market share, the firm boasted.

There's been significant growth in other regions too with branded LCD displays, holding rank two in Sweden and rank nine in the Czech Republic, climbing three and five places respectively. In the UK, Viewsonic is the market leader for the 22-inch wide category, and second place for the 20 inch wide market with just over a 20 per cent market share, which is supposedly under one per cent behind the current market leader.

Viewsonic seems very pleased with itself. µ
