CHIP FIRM ATI confirmed it will be giving people going to the Texas Gaming Festival to look at what it claims is the world's first 512MB.

We reported this would happen earlier this week. See More on ATI's 512MB card emerges and Next ATI card will have 512MB memory.

One gamer will get to take one home, said Rich Heye, vice president of ATI's desktop discrete division. Heye was formerly a senior executive at AMD, INQ readers will recall.

Heye said that ATI is giving attendees the chance to check out the first 512MB gaming cards before they're sent to its software partners for developing future game technologies. µ
