Simply put, you can't change a company without changing its management - Andy Grove - Only the Paranoid Survive
Meanwhile a similar page on the Carphone Warehouse's site is mysteriously blank.
Amazon has placed the ads for the Iphone on its sites in the UK, France and Germany. It says, "At this time we cannot guarantee if or when this item will become available."
However, Amazon offers to send you an email as soon as any information on the product becomes available. There are separate ads for the 4GB and 8GB versions.
Somewhat bizarrely Amazon also runs reviews of the phones. How can you review the phone when you don't even know if it will have support for EDGE in Europe?
Such information is critical to gauge its browsing property.
Just out of curiosity, the INQ browsed the Carphone Warehouse's site and found a blank page which is obviously intended to be a teaser for the Iphone.
If you view the page's source code both the words
Apple and Iphone come up. Plus the ability to ask Carphone to email you as soon as the product becomes available also
works.
Better still, so does the word 'O2' appear in the source code. Oops, Dunston's chums appear to have confirmed our belief that O2 has won the right to the Iphone in the UK. µ
