SPINNERS at Microsoft desperate to prove that its Vista OS is not the lemon that most sceptics claim, have staged a cunning publicity stunt.
According to News.com, the Vole has started rounding up Windows XP users who had negative impressions of Vista. They then showed them a 'new' operating system code-named Mojave. More than 90 per cent of the sceptics said the new OS was good and then they were filmed as they were told that "Mojave" was actually Windows Vista.
Surprisingly, none of the people filmed called Vista spinners a very rude word. In fact one of the dupes actually said the words, "Oh wow!" which is the phrase Voles have been hoping to get out of users mouths for months.
The users in question had not attempted to install software and not received the annoying "Do you want to do this Dave?" comments. Nor did they have to suffer those stupid shut down messages where Vista claims it is trying to fix a problem but doesn't.
Windows unit business chief Bill Veghte told News.com, that his team had a huge "perception opportunity" with the "OS". Which is VoleSpeak for everyone thinks Vista is pants. µ
where they found vista skeptics that didn't know how to recognize vista?? (and are knowledgeable of xp, so not computer illiterate)
Classic line & when pundits stop Bad Mouthing Vista enough, realize theres NO One left except Ultie.

By Climbing Mountain from Beta, Ultie tom has View. Vista is View & it works Good. Someday, some phoney pundits will sell "vestal virgin" Vista to You, by then it will be NT7 Beta time.Crumping Yous.

Start At TOP, Stay At TOP. Nothing Else Compares.

Of course of Microsoft shows Vista to XP in a controlled environment while calling it anything other than Vista, it will appear to be good. That is especially true if said "testers" haven't attempted to use it, install software or hardware on it, or try to live with it for any length of time beyond a "demonstration". Negative opinions about Vista are based on real user issues with the OS in addition to the fact that a "supercomputer" with super amounts of memory and storage are required for operational efficiency.
Desperate times need desperate measures. This is obviously a test run for the sudden roll-out of *Mojave-Windows-7*, along with accompanying larger-scale brainwashing attempts. This also answers the question about Widows7 development cost = burning all the unused Vista boxes + burning Vista CD's with a *Mojave-Windows-7* splash screen.

I guess the real name of this old game is *the shell game*...Vista goes in here, around and around they go, you hand them more money, and look, *Mojave-Windows-7*! But I do think that Microsoft overestimates the gullibility of people...particularly people who now have access to excellent free Linux operating systems like Ubuntu/Kubuntu (also being pre-loaded on Dell and other computers).
Dear idiots

If your going to comment on something actually use it first before being outwitted by propoganda showing your own failure of comprehension.

lol i hate it when people blast something before even trying it, ive used vista and do not like it, they changed too much without giving you an option also i much prefer server 2008 setup as a workstation as it doesnt include all the DRM infection and is modular just like good old 98 was, like i always say sometimes to go forwards you have to look back and see what worked well
Micro$oft still just doesn't "get it" with regard to Vista.
They think that what they have is a PR problem when what they really have is an OS problem.
Even if they iron out all the incompatibilities and annoyances they're stil going to have a steaming pile of bloated, DRM infected, over priced; craptacular OS. New, flashy eye candy demo'd for a bunch of newbs ain't gonna fix that.
I don't care how much they repackage or present it. You can not polish a terd and no amount of "spinning" is going to convince anybody.
Excuse me, Vista already release, why they not fix the problem which all client brought and those stupid blink black screen for security thing in two mode back and forth really bloodly annoy. So now they show off a window similar to Vista called Mojave. that is their game to play on you. unless they earn more money out of your pocket. let see what they offer. Change Direct X 10 to 11 and now they change Vista gave you the hint, what is it? Please guess it. it is their EMBARRASSMENT so they cover up and change the subject to forgot those problem. NO WAY. Keep in mind and record of history what they done with window. those window still the same since version 3.1 and build since to XP and stack up more pile of code cause more slower than old one. they need work on it to make smooth and faster now look at LINUX run faster than Window and gave us a more impressive plus it is free less problem compare with Microsoft cost us a lot of money and give us more headaches and problems, what the heck! Come on we earn some benefit here from those Vista problem! Thank you.
They want me to pay for something that doesn't add much functionality.

Right. So how does this not suck?
What might have been a bit of a giveaway was that they didn't try to run Mojave on the punter's kit -- it will be running on a high performance platform complete with gobs of memory, high end graphics card and so on.

Functionally it will do about the same as XP. Or 2000. For a lot more (Ulitmate retails for $499, doesn't it?).

I've given up. I now use Linux.
Did anyone commenting here actually read the article?

They gathered up people who didn't like Vista, and sat them down WITH VISTA. They told them it was something else to see their response.
So they changed it's look and only let them see parts of Vista that people don't complain about. I wonder what the specs were of the machines running "Mojave". The best research to be found is in the sales figures of linux & Mac desktops and laptops. No matter how much lipstick you put on a pig, it is still a pig.
If Mojave exists then I'm guessing we can all try it and see if it improves Vista, so MS where is Mojave and can we all have it?

Does Mojave make Vista pc's network with XP workgroup?

Does Mojave make Vista use less resources and boot faster than an old dog pc running XP?

Mojave is a desert, so maybe this is just an illusion, a mirage.
Why don't all you people just dig out your old typewriter and be done with it if you are so frightened by the newest hardware and software.

P.S. Vista runs great on my Quad core machine. Yup, loads of RAM too. I'm not afraid of computers.
Amazing. Microsoft searched long and hard and finally found a few folks who like the color of the lipstick they put on that pig.
of course they're going to be wowed. They're expecting alpha or beta code. And they're being shown current "final" production code. It's going to be a wow experience if you think a beta product is going to perform so "smoothly".
I think there's a point being missed here.

Microsoft -does- get it. They are fully aware of Vista's issues- they must be using it internally so collectively they probably have the largest Vista installation, user base and test environment in the world.

Everything they try to pull off (including their pro-Vista blogs, and other PR stunts) are just part of a business plan to keep the vibe while they go ahead working on Windows 7 or whatever they're doing while not rebooting their workstations.

Or that's what I hope.
Reading the comments of my fellow readers tells me that the Mojave-thing rings true even now. It's not about Vista itself, it's a PR-thing, and people hating Vista/MS don't even realize they're victims of perpetual conjecture and then spreading the same conjecture over and over again, manipulated by media (like TheInq) without using a critical eye when reading. It doesn't annoy me however, it's actually interesting to see how far some of my fellow readers go in their hate campaigns.
All this Vista bashing is getting seriously old now. The vast majority of the "bashers" haven't tried it for more than 5 mins and are basing their opinion on word of mouth, yet as soon as Microshaft demonstrate that very fact to them they all assume it's a lie... who do you lot think you're kidding?
All these people bad mouthing vista are hypocrites.

When Windows XP was relased people were complaining about sluggish performance and bugs

The fact is vista requires a high end PC to work to its full potential.

The new quad core runs great on vista. People should upgrade
What Microsoft showed those individuals was the pig with lipstick. They showed the gloss versus the substance of the OS. Color a turd by any other color it still remains a turd.

What they didn't tell them was about the 47+ different programs that are collecting data and reporting that information back to Microsoft. What they didn't tell them was that they demanded that hardware manufacturers put specialized circuitry into their products to accommodate Vista which is used to control the users consumption of content ala DRM in hardware. They didn't explain that doing all this was akin to say an LCD TV manufacturer putting technology into their display to monitor what you watch and to degrade/disable what you are seeing if they make a decision that the content isn't valid.

They didn't tell them about all the locking technologies that they were putting into Vista to keep you from moving to other solid platforms if you so chose.

They didn't show them the incredible hardware requirements (notebooks that don't run well with 1.5gigs of RAM), that have video redraw that crawls, that will lag every time the UAC comes up nor how annoying all that is.

They were manipulative and dishonest in the way they subjected these guys to tests. To stack the deck with real powerful hardware, to configure it all in advance and to set that down in front of the user with custom picked programs and actions is just deceptive.

No, who the **** do you think you're kidding?

I've RIPPED vista off (and replaced it with XP of course) of between 400 and 500 laptops since ol' crappy vista came out.

I have also EXTENSIVELY used ol' crappy vista for unfortunately far tooooooo long.

Microshaft needs to scrap that ****ty OS right now.

It. Is. CRAP.

No discussion.

Just because you and other tools *cough*Howard*cough* have managed to "deal with it", doesn't mean the rest of the populace has to.
Weeks of using Vista revealed all the annoyances that made me go back to XP, a glance at the OS tells you nothing.
"Microsoft desperate to prove that its Vista OS is not the lemon that most sceptics claim..."

Oh Nick, after having resorted to only check in on this biased turd spinning site once a week I see you are still strong at it.

I guess while sceptics claim the lemon (otherwise they wouldn't be so sceptical now, would they...) and prefer to use any of the oh so market penetrating *IX operating systems (but what makes them so bitter if things are so great?), professionals caring more about getting business done are quite happy with MSFTs latest OS.

T**T.
Guys, guys. Vista lovers can use vista. XP lovers can use XP. Linux lovers can choose their fav distro. MacOS lovers can use MacOS all they want.

No need to bash OS.
Nothing new here, Apple tried this with the switch campaign. Meanwhile I am still running XP on old hardware.
I really liked the skeptical guy that when told 'its really vista', says with a deadpan look on his face "then why is it faster?"

Answer - because its running on a $1000+ laptop - a dual core HP Pavilion DV2000 with 2 GB of RAM. And while it doesn't say so, I have no doubt the machine also has the upgraded Nvidia 7200 discrete video graphics option.

Lets see them do this 'experiment' using a $500 'budget' laptop with integrated Intel graphics, a sempron or celeron CPU and only one GB of RAM.
Sorry, but I have used it a ton and it has real problems. It is still unstable, has driver problems, and the UAC features should be banned by the Geneva Convention.

I just want stuff to work reliably and it fails that test. The acid test is to see how many large business enterprises are chomping at the bit to change over from XP. The answer: not many.

Maybe after another pile o' patches it will be worthy. I only use it because I wanted access to DirectX 10 for some games.

You haven't ripped it off 500 machines, because there is a 'degrade to windows XP' button built into Windows Vista.

GG proving that you haven't used vista, and making your entire point baseless. GG.
