Too bad all the people who know how to run the country are busy driving taxi cabs and cutting hair - George Burns
A HIGH RANKING US military figurine has told the Wall Street Journal that American military networks are under siege from hackers trying to nick sensitive, classified information. He pointed the finger at China. Sort of.
Gen. Kevin Chilton, who is a former astronaut and now heads the military's Strategic Command and all things cyberspace, was somewhat reluctant to point the finger directly at China, but said that there was plenty of evidence to suggest that China was behind most of the incidents and that 'you can kind of connect the dots'.
In the past, the U.S. has expressly linked China to a number of embarrassingly successful cyber attacks against their military networks, accusations which China hotly denies.
The US reckons that it has serious grounds for concern, admitting that its classified military and government networks come under attack tens of thousands of times a day.
Gen. Chilton, tactfully likened the hacking attempts to Cold War-era espionage, and accused the (possibly Chinese) hackers of trying to mine classified data.
The Chinese had better watch their backs because, according to the General, even if hackers don’t manage to crash the US military system and only slow it down a little bit, he still reckons "I would consider that an attack".
Beijing, consider thyself warned.

Best be careful G.W. Bush isn't out of office yet and all he needs is an act of war to postpone being taken out of office.

China would be a really good excuse not to leave the White House.
Yes, going to war with China would be dangerous. Being a more civilized country than Iraq, they may ignore our defeatists' suggestions that our troops be withdrawn and preemptively strike us with the ultimate weapon:

Total Surrender.

Reconstruction costs alone would guarantee the once-and-for-all death of the United States. Just imagine 300,000,000 additional elderly suddenly filing for Social Security benefits...

:D

"There are worse things than defeat, such as not to try at all."
Dubya can spend upto 2 more years as president. If he is named vice-president and his 'boss' wins, then he could become president (but serve no more than 2 years) again if anything happened to the new president.

I'm not suggesting he'd have anyone killed as its not the sort of thing he'd do (unless you count the incident on Sept 11th & all those civilians slaughtered in Iraq).
Well, china OWNS the US and yet we are their biggest market (mind you the one they are slowly poisoning to death with faulty/toxic products) your humor is totally appropriate. let alone the fact that they own half our national debt thanks to the iraq war...
The U.S militar force is considered as one of the strongest on earth, BUT they better not mess with China. This country dwarfs the U.S militar force in a 3-to-1 ratio. We're talking about 300 million americans vs 2 billion chinese. =)
So the two guys before me think that if the U.S went to war with China the U.S would stand a chance... right. Step out of your imaginary world, China is becoming the next super-power in this world within a decade. The turd gets replaced by a bigger turd.

A war like this would cost the U.S everything, but for the Chinese it would merely be a setback.
Ummm Wait guys your getting it wrong. Iraq 17 Million people USA 300 Million people China 1,300 Million People. Maybe let us look at it this way......Iraq air force unable to reach us....China Air force and Navy able to reach us. Naw your not getting the point.......Iraq NO nuclear weapons ....China a minimum of 400 (not including up to 25 warheads per missile) All of China's Warheads are newer...most very long distance....What? still not worried....okay before war Iraq had no economic effect on us.....China has more effect on us than even Mexico doe, Canada, Japan, and the UK put togather. I think your comparing a mole hill (iraq) to mount st hellen(china) Plus they have many other kinds of weapons of mass distruction.
Nah Corndog your missing it.

IF China is cybor-tacking the US military we are already at war. 1400 to 300 isnt all that bad when you consider China requires and US recruits. That the US sells military equipment to China and China sells the US toys. That without the US and its corporations China wouldn't have an economy.

IF is the key there.
You guys are missing the point of this story. The Chinese will know all about any attack plan ahead of time. How? What do you think all that hacking is about?
