April Fool is past and gone. You're the fool and I am none - proverb
THE MICROSOFT ILOO was an "April Fool's" joke even though it was launched on the 2nd of May, the Vole told Mike Kanellos at cnet.com yesterday.
That follows recent claims by a British inventor that the MSN "iLoo" was just a rip off of his idea.
And it also suggests - if the reports are true - that Microsoft's legendary sense of timing is just as good as ever.
Quoting Nouri Hasan, a Microsoft US rep, Cnet said the iLoo was an April Fool's jape.
But we'd suggest that perhaps Microsoft has found itself somewhat embarrassed by the level of coverage of the iLoo, particularly as the "jape" appears to be based on someone else's idea. As it found out rather late. µ
