Nvidia, AMD conspired to fix prices, say customers

Complaints on the rise
Thursday, 24 May 2007, 18:14
NVIDIA HAS ADMITTED that it has received some 51 civil complaints against it from miffed customers.

Amongst other things, complainants claim that the firm has conspired with rival AMD to fix prices and screw consumers.

Nvidia confessed to receiving the allegations against it and its arch rival in its quarterly report to the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The complainants are largely customers who have bought graphics cards and feel they have been ripped off in the process.

It said most of complaints emanated from California.

The complaints may develop into class action law suits against which Nvidia says it will "vigorously" defend itself, according to Dow Jones.

Nvidia faced 42 similar complaints in the year to March 14 according to the annual report it filed with the SEC on March 16.

We have asked both Nvidia and AMD for a comment and will let you know what they say. Although we can probably guess already. ยต
