DVD writers to bury combos

Bargains

APOLOGIES. Yesterday's Fossil watch PDA link did not work. Try this one.

I don't know if there will be more stock of this drive at ebuyer. But the GSA-4081B-B DVD writer is for the time being at least UK'cheapest drive. It is a triple format DVD writer, capable of writing up to 8X on DVD+R and 3x on DVD RAM. Only £19.58+VAT.

On its todayonly page, Scan is selling a PCI Express X800 card for £129.95+VAT. The Connect 3D is a X800 based card with 256MB memory, TV Out, a DVI port as well as VIVO capabilities. Should prove to be at least as competitive as a 6800GT. Anyone saw a X800 non SE for cheaper, mail me.

With the demise of Tiny and Time computers, buying a PC in UK from a solid company is becoming a tad more difficult. Dell is apparently one of the reasons why Tiny went tits up and its easy to see why. They are selling a Dell Dimension 3000 PC with 512MB memory, a Celeron 330 Processor, a 40GB HDD, a 17-inch screen and all the rest for only £349. The price includes VAT and shipping, this means that the actual price of the item is a mere £199+VAT.

Large screen laptops are slowly but surely dropping in price. Those modern time luggables are truly desktop replacements. The Toshiba Satellite P35 is one of the better out there. At $1099.99 after rebate from Tigerdirect, it comes with a powerful P4 3.2GHz, 512MB memory, wireless connectivity, a 17-inch Trubrite widescreen WXGA display powered by a R9700 plus a DVD writer and a 80GB HDD. Anything more powerful will be overkill for a business user. µ
