German coppers crack down on TOR servers

Porn to hide
Monday, 11 September 2006, 16:32
INSPECTOR KNACKER of the Konstanz Yard raided seven ISPs in Germany over the weekend and took ten servers away for questioning.

The raids were part of a bid to crack down on child porn, although the servers did not contain any porn. Instead, the servers were thought to contain a copy of TOR, which is software designed to anonymise the user.

According to one ISP, who wrote to all the others, the coppers were after the servers log files. So far no charges have been laid.

There are fears that this could be the beginning of a crack down on the TOR networks. ยต
