The Cave was in an introspective mood at the beginning of this week, which to be honest comes as a bit of a shock compared to the normal cacophony of bad puns, even worse running gags and Cave dwellers shouting at each other.

So a surprisingly long discussion on the rules, forum etiquette and random techie suggestions ensued, which can be found here.

This collective navel gazing didn't last too long, unfortunately, so we were soon back to bad puns, even worse running gags and shouting at each other, albeit a bit quieter for a while.

Not content to fill up the forum , we're now flooding IRC with our talk . And then posting bits of it back here. Then TameAlien went for broke and came up with the Cave's unofficial national anthem.

We think it might stay that way too. Here.

Flashman finally found his wallet and ordered ADSL last week , now we just can't stop him telling us all about it . We can't win, but at least the moths have escaped.

The latest craze has been playing Goat Recon . Quite what the fascination with caprines is I'm not sure , but it seems to be indoors, so they're unlikely to get arrested. Must make a mess of the carpet though.

SKAFFMAN was wibbling about a new mobo which took place over a few threads . That's about all there is to say on that really.

TIGGER was getting all excited by a super high tech spudchucker . Yes, honestly. See here for details.

He also jazzed up the Forum front door with a new lick of paint (or whatever fangled doodad that he used). Looks good too, no stripes!

Showing due respect for his profession , SPINOLA and a few others spent a good proportion of the week sending spoof messages to the Grauniad sport pages , with REDBARON going through a slight identity crisis, while Alphonso Spinola suffered a total collapse and his personality dissolved into several different characters, half of them chatting the other half up. Here.

DSMITHINQ has been getting all modern and been installing 98Lite as you can read here. Mr G was suitably impressed and veritably swooned at the recklessness of it all, but SKAFFMAN was more cautious, remembering the days when Linux was a mere gleam in the blesséd Torvald's eye.

SKAFFMAN and Mr G have talking about their Munkheys, again . This time it involved the great Bard. Here.

Kulture this week was showing everybody what they currently had on their clipboard here. This doesn't improve the nerdy image, guys.

Finally we managed to organise an OOFG in a record number of posts, total as of Sunday evening 43. Find out how to avoid it by going here. µ

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
