Yahoo rebuffs Microsoft again

Talks go on the back-burner

WEB PORTAL Yahoo seems to have rejected Microsoft's attempt to buy the company.

Yahoo shares rocketed on Friday on the news that Steve Ballmer might be writing a cheque for the Internet search outfit.

However now it appears that Yahoo has rejected the plan, besides it is unlikely that Steve could afford to buy it without getting a loan.

Microsoft and Yahoo have explored working together since Microsoft moved its advertising sales onto its own platform.

But Yahoo insiders say Yahoo is still not interested in putting itself up for sale. They feel that despite Google's success, it is still better for the company to go it alone.
