Firing Squad discovers a handbrake on Intel's V8

HW Roundup And Nforce becomes Geforce.....
Friday, 11 May 2007, 00:17
FIRING SQUAD TESTED Intel's V8 system, powered by two Xeon 5365 CPUs and FB-DIMM memory, and discovered ton of interesting things on the platform itself. We have the system as well, but what a shame it is not to have a board with two PCIe x16 slots. R600 in CrossFire would just work wonderfully in this environment.

But to keep this system running, we would advise you to spend some dosh and shell out for a UPS device. HardwareLogic tested CyberPower CP1500AVRLCD 1500VA, a 900W UPS.... TweakTown reviewed Corsair's Flash Voyager GT 8GB. This stick continues the line of physically indestructible drives, but mine sadly decided to give up the ghost while moving it between my notebook and test computer. Luckily, even if this unlikely event occurs, Corsair will replace your stick immediately and sometimes even offer a bigger capacity one, which only deserves kudos...

Joe Tequila from Spanish MadBoxPC.com reviewed stylish Acer Aspire 3650 notebook from el cheapo category of notebooks. Main review is in S panish, but you can check Tequila-translation from Google over here.

We often write about cooler reviews in our daily wibble, but one component is necessary to make those coolers work in conjuction with the CPU. That component is TIM (Thermal Interface Material), known as a paste, grease, pad... and Whoopty from XSReviews.co.uk reviewed Zaward Super Thermal Grease HSC-G. We never heard about the company before, but hey, it's a big world out there... but for regular things, guys reviewed Gigabyte's notebook cooler named " target="blank">G-Pad.

PC Stats reviewed yet another motherboard based on Nvidia's nForce 7050PV chipsets. Biggest issue that these guys had was calling "nForce" chipset "Geforce", so this was a typical case that "clear head" and "4AM" do not go hand in hand, as yours truly often experiences.

TheTechLounge continue with their series of reviewing MP3 players of the world. Today, Creative Zen V Plus came to the table. All in all, interesting product.

OCZ is expanding into gaming market, and Virtual-Hideout reviewed Equalizer Laser Gaming Mouse, and deemed it a solid one...
