I-mate and Microsoft indulge in mutual backslapping

Claims that Windows Mobile is growing
Friday, 4 August 2006, 08:48
THE BEAST of Redmond has recognised I-mate's achievements in spreading the reach of Microsoft Windows Mobile devices by awarding the company Gold Certified status.

Outlining the advantages, I-mate's CEO, Jim Morrison [no relation] claimed: "This award signifies two important developments for our business.

The second, and most important, is that being Gold Certified status means we will have unrivalled access to Microsoft in terms of support and new product releases."

If true, the INQ wonders how I-mate's rivals will react to this assertion?

Morrison also reckons that: "This [award] can only enhance our business over the coming years as the use of Windows Mobile smartphones continues to gain mainstream popularity globally."

What figures does he base that on, the INQ wonders?

From the consumer's perspective, I-Mate claims to provide exclusive software products that include interactive games from via its Clubimate site.

In addition, it provides the I-mate Suite which enables Windows Mobile users to take total command and control of their data and Windows Mobile devices securely anytime, anywhere.

Plus every I-mate device also comes with Windows Media Player Mobile, MSN Messenger, Word, Outlook and Excel Mobile.

Does this make the Dubai based company a world leader? ยต
