Vista delay creates motherboard mountain

Will people bite?
Monday, 30 October 2006, 13:39
A REPORT BY Bloomberg said that Goldman Sachs anticipates PC motherboard sales are set to plummet this quarter.

Actually, plummet isn't quite as strong language as "falling off a cliff".

According to the report, published by the Taipei Times, the slowdown has been caused by delays in Microsoft Vista.

The Goldman Sachs report said that mobo makers have piles of stock.

There appears to be some doubt whether Microsoft Vista is as eagerly anticipated by people as previous OSes the firm has delivered.

The hardware vendors are hoping that people will bite. But the concensus appears to be that Vista is no Windows 95, which really had the vendors stocking up on their crates of Cristal. ยต
