Travelmate for those who ignored it was long reserved for Intel. Its features are quite standard - 1.6GHz ML30 CPU, Radeon XPRESS 200P Chipset, X700 GPU, 15-inch XGA, DVD writer, 512MB memory and 60GB HDD. You'll need a translator to grasp the gist of it.

BIOSmagazine checks the Creative Sound Blaster X Fi Elite Pro,. which some other reviews have called the last PCI quality sound card. This little jewel from Creative Labs gets a virtual standing ovation from BIOS which calls it a revolution in PC audio. The model reviewed is the top end version and includes not only professional quality DAC but also a large IO module, a remote control and 64 MB of memory. There's no Firewire or USB ports though but even a professional musician should at least have a look at what it offers.
Phoronix gets a full review at the Abit AW8. which is a fanless 955X chipset based motherboard. It includes Abit famous OTES cooler in its silent version, as well as uGuru overclocking technology and AudioMax daughterboard. It does not win points however on wealth of features nor on outstanding overclockabilty. But Linux does not get any conflict with it which accoding to Phoronix is a big plus.
