And will emerge next year
Thursday, 18 January 2007, 11:26
AN OUTFIT spun out of the University of Tokyo claims it has succeeded in transferring data using an optical connection on the same planar at 10 gigabits a second.

According to Nikkei.net, Advanced Photonics sends data between semiconductors by using a waveguide made from epoxy resin, with a converter on each side to switch the signals.

The firm will have a commercial version ready in 2008, it hopes. ยต
