Other enhanced features include Ultra DMA 33 and Ultra DMA 66 interfaces which help reduce the processor power required to manage CompactFlash data transfers. Faster PCMCIA ATA memory and i/o modes have been added and can now provide interface transfer rates up to 25 MB/sec.
Commenting on the new specs, CFA chairman, Shigeto Kanda, claimed, "Having the fastest interface data rate of any Flash cards is a significant step for Compactflash. Data write performance of digital SLR cameras as well as other high performance cameras will not be limited by the Flash card interface."
