LONDON MAYOR and bumbling TV quiz show panellist, Boris Johnson has told a local radio station in the capitol that he wants every Londoner to have access to wireless broadband.
He also called PM Gordon Brown's plan to let the poorest people in the country get online by giving them up to £700 in vouchers "a desperate bribe".
But he said: "I certainly think there is a case for dealing with people who are information technology-poor, and trying to help people get online.
"What we need is a city where anywhere you go, you can log on, you can get on the web. They've done it in other parts of the world... why on Earth can't we do it? I think that's the way we should be going, rather than bunging money to people."
"Let's do it, beginning in Stratford in this fantastic area of opportunity," he said referring to the run-down site of the upcoming Olympics, which is often called St Ratford by local residents.
Obviously, the way to go is to bung money at big corporations which can get their infrastructure subsidised by local taxpayers and then cream off the profits for decades to come. µ

There are about 4700 people living per km^2. If just a small fraction of them open their Wi-Fi access points, add a little bit of software and build up a network with their neighbours, the entire city would be covered in no time. With a little bit of effort you can bridge distances of a few km. Connect the London net with Northhampton, Cambridge, Southhampton, etc. all the way up to Norwick, and you have the entire country covered with a supplementary Internet, for free. Next, liberate France.

and we'll get started.

It's illegal Wi-Fi hopper, to use other people's open network (and to run an open network I think)
Plus what if someone used your network to watch a youtube UK people are not allowed to see? They you get in trouble with big brother.
Also your plan would be technologically complex, to get unity and to prevent clogging (how do you limit flooding one person's network), etcetera.
Also; france doesn't like freedom any more, they elect bush lovers and create fascist laws against internet users.
