Quad FX's power cost is insignificant to me

SOME of our readers complained a lot about 4x4 platformance and especially focused on the power consumption of such a machine. Well we will agree that two FX74 will consume more power and amperes than the Core 2 Quad at 2.66GHz.

Two FX74 means that at the end of the month with 750W or 1KW PSU you might have to pay a bit more for your power bill. But here is the ultimate answer to those guys.

If you want to cut the power bill that 4x4 or Quad FX is not for you and you should not get the Core 2 Quad either. You need a laptop with a battery charger to save some $5 at the end of the month. If you want a full-scale machine with two G80 cards inside bunch of drivers, DVDs inside then you need to pay for the juice.

The other day in a Mercedes with 400 horse powered machine on a German highway I finally realised what 4x4 is all about. This car consumes a lot more than Toyota Yaris - probably up to five times more - but you cannot compare the experience.

Mercedes with 400 Horse powers will chase a Ferrari at 220 KM/h or 135 Miles for our US readers and the Ferrari won't be able to get away. This is what Quad FX is all about.

The Quad FX or 4x4 really feels alive. It's very hard to put it in words but it is really good machine, and could not care less is my power bill going to increase for 5€ a month as long as I have a cool machine.

No one moans about a Ferrari F430 consuming 25 litres per 100 KM either. It is fast and if you can buy one you can afford the fuel or power bill. If you don't get this maths you don't have and you will never have a high end computer. µ
