OCZ to overclock the G80

Memory manufacturer goes back to graphics
Wednesday, 20 December 2006, 11:50
CES will be when OCZ re-introduces graphics products. The former memory only company has already expanded to the Power Supply Unit business, it is doing cooling for some time and now it wants to get a foothold in the high end graphics market.

We learned that OCZ plans to showcase overclocked Geforce 8800 GTX cards but we still don't know the clocks. Samples should be ready in the first week of January. OCZ used to make Geforce 3 cards a few years back but it decided to go out of this market. It believes that now is the perfect time to go back to it again. OCZ has the money as it went public a few months ago.

The channel for these guys is there - it just has to convince its memory guys to start buying the graphic cards. We don't know the pricing and the clock details but I am sure we will learn it by January 2007. ยต
