FACEBOOK has released a version of its spectacularly popular site just for the hipper-than-thou Iphone crowd.

You can find it here, although it doesn't look particularly brill in a standard browser.

The site offers all the normal Facebook goodies - including the news feed, friends maintenance, messaging, search and status updates - but in a width and height suitable for the Iphone's smaller screen. Links and buttons are also much bigger than on the standard site, making it suitable for those touchscreen users with particularly pudgy fingers.

Facebook joins a number of other Web 2.0-fancy sites to come out with a site designed for Apples wonder-phone. Digg and NetVibes have bothl recently succumbed to the siren call of Iphone compatibility.

We tried Facebook on our Iphone here in Wifi-tastic Paris, and it seemed to work rather well. If only we had some friends. µ
