Qimonda signs up for Rambus licence

MEMORY FIRM Qimonda said it will license Rambus XDR technology, used in the Playstation.

The firm said that XDR is good technology for graphics processing, consumer electronics, network and server apps and gives up to 6.4GB/sec of peak bandwidth.

It also provides octal data rate, flying data across at eight bits per clock cycle, and dynamic point to point signalling on the data bus.

XDR has already been licensed to IBM, Toshiba, Samsung and AMD. ยต
