Writing open sauce multimedia server in Java
Wed May 09 2007, 10:14
MOBILE PHONE maker, Ericsson and maker of computer bits and bobs, Sun are sitting down and penning an open-source Java-based multimedia application server.

According to Reuters, the big idea is that Ericsson will contribute parts of its server development to the open source project GlassFish. Then the two will make a bob or two supporting it.

The supporting program includes tools and expertise to support developer communities, as well as a possibility for developers to test their applications on a live IMS-based network. µ
