PC PERSPECTIVE uncovers the Asus P5WD5 Premium 955X motherboard, one of the LGA775 Dual core compatible better boards out there. It is compared to a Gigabyte board and to Intel's own reference board. You get what you expect from a top of the range Asus mobo. Two GbE LAN connection, loads of SATA connectors plus three IDE ones and loads of overclocking and tweaking options.

If there is one segment that still eludes nVidia's grip, it is in the HTPC category where the All in Wonder series from ATI reigns supreme. Absolutely and totally. Driverheaven tests the X800XT with a SCART output, a godsend for those living in UK. The fact that it is an AGP version though might deter some. It overclocks easily, is compatible with MCE 2005 and fits like a glove inside a 300W Shuttle casing. Watch out though for a Nvidia answer soon.

Chilean website overclockers.cl has especially set up an English website for readers of theInq and the rest of the world alike. Their first review they posted is about the OCZ EL DDR PC4800 Platinum Elite Edition. Didn't know that OCZ manufactured NvIdia based graphic card. Anyway, the memory module under test carries a lifetime guarantee and is tested by hand. The modules are particularly impressive. With gains of up to 50% in some cases. All this performance come at a steep price.

Trustedreviews tests the Lexmark Z735, one of the cheapest colour printer we've seen for a long time. It introduces the 1 Print cartridge which combines the three primary colours to get a quasi black. Overall the reviewer is pleased by what he sees although much is to be said about the dearness of the cartridge.

Hexus has a go at the 7800GTX with a full roundup of the product. Actually quite a few of you might actually skip this one for its (much) cheaper brother, the 7800GT. Models from XFX, Leadtek and BFG are included with the first and the last one being overclocked by default. Hexus gives an approximate cost per FPS in DOOM III. The Leadtek card has the best value.

Phoronix checks the Coolermaster Realpower 450W. You get a nice powersupply with a large 120mm fan, a human computer interface - read an analog meter thingy plus enough points on its feature list to fill a line. The reviewer likes the blue led fan, the fact that it has loads of connectors and its quietness. µ
