A SIGNED PICTURE of Ian Hislop, editor of UK satirical magazine Private Eye, soared from 99 pence to £10,000,000 on Ebay after the dapper little chap got a thorough ribbing on TV show Have I got News for you.

Internet savvy readers logged onto Ebay during and after the show in a vainglorious attempt to demonstrate that Hislop was worth more than the 99 pence that the photo reached.

But after Ebay was deluged with bidders, the auction item was withdrawn - not before the page views soared to 74,517.
