Lenovo enters F1 with Williams F1 team

AT&T and Lenovo give Brits vote of confidence
Thursday, 25 January 2007, 14:56
A TEAM TO BEAT in the 90s, Williams F1 had several tough seasons, but still the team managed to get good sponsorship deals.

The team was sponsored first by Compaq, HP inherited the deal after the merger and now Chinese computer maker Lenovo decided to grab as much advertising space as possible and announced its foray into the world of F1.

Even though WilliamsF1 has AT&T title sponsorship, the car that was painted for the Lenovo commercials features a plethora of Lenovo logos, on both sidepods and on the rear spoiler - eclipsing even the ones by the title sponsor. The final livery for 2007 will be revealed on February 2nd during the AT&T Williams F1-Toyota launch, but one thing is certain: IT loves F1.

At least we now know whose notebooks will be used to start the cars of Nico Rosberg and Alex Wurz in Melbourne on March 18th. ยต
