IBM's PPC 970 die revealed

BIG BLUE HAD ALL sorts of troubles sending a huge picture of the PPC 970 to us yesterday, but the drains have been cleared and IBM's bandwidth is better than it was.

This chip is a .13µ (micron) design which uses silicon on insulator (SOI) and has over 58 million transistors.
