Asus makes the first Nvidian HDMI graphics card

Computex 2006 Still a long way off

ASUS HAS made a prototype HDMI card. As far as we now, it's the first of Nvidia's partners to make a card based on its technology.

People are gagging for HDMI and Asus is here to serve, but it will still be a while before you see this card in retail.

The card is based on Geforce 7600 GT core and does support SLI. It uses a good combination of DVI and HDMI connectors but, be aware if you use the card as SLI you will lose the dual-display capability anyway.

The card also has an optical-out to connect the audio on your graphics card to an external source and there is also an S-Video connector. The card bundles with an SPDIF cable and HDMI-to-DVI cable and that's about it.

If you want pure HDMI cable you will have to buy one yourself. ยต
