Sony finds use for old DVDs

Flame proof plastic - the irony
Wednesday, 13 September 2006, 10:08
ELECTRONICS manufacturer Sony has come up for a use of old DVDs by developing a fire-resistant plastic that can be used for PCs.

According to nikkei.net, it can recycle and crush DVDs, adding a fire retardant and a polymer to improve shock resistance.

Sony reckons that the fire-resistant plastic will be twice as strong as existing casings for PCs with better resistance to heat and fire. µ
