Microsoft promises not to kill Xbox 360

It will not go the way of the Xbox and other dodos

A TOP VOLE has promised that Microsoft will not kill off the the Xbox 360 in a similar way it knocked the Xbox on the head.

Microsoft's Shane Kim told 1Up that Vole wants to have a “more balanced” approach to the next next-generation gear. He wanted the Xbox 360 to stick around for a much longer time. Ideally it would have the shelf-life of the PS2.

He said that the Xbox was more or less a stop gap console because Microsoft knew that it could not knock the PS2 off its pedestal at that point of the game.

Instead it concentrated on releasing the Xbox 360 ahead of its rivals to get itself established in the market.

Kim said that Vole did not want to milk the Xbox for all it could so that it could have a shot at winning the next generation war.
