Not to dash cold water on John Wayne Jr there, but, well, is more than a little scary. The same people who could not figure out that a country did not have WMDs and was mislead by its own people probably don't know what a proxy server is. Trojans, botnets and hijacked PCs are probably not on the literal radar either.
The last thing on earth we want is some semi-educated person on the night shift seeing a red light go on on his PC that says 'attack' and launching real bombs. These same people who can't figure out where an attack is coming from so they can shut it down with a phone call probably shouldn't be trusted to deal with the same situation with high explosives.
What would happen next? The RIAA, a major campaign donor, calls up the Pentagon screaming 'Cyber attack'. Next thing you know, in the name of national security, an apartment building in Brooklyn, 17 cows in Iowa, half of the middle east, and a cheese factory outside Lyon all go up in glowing smoke. Meanwhile, the perps in an apartment out side of St. Petersburg are going out for a cheeseburger.
Does this whole concept frighten any of you as much as it does us? ยต
