The INQUIRER has no editor

Letters Ahm da bad guy

Subject: The Inquirer doesn't have an editor does it?

Let me start out with the fact that I love the Inquirer, and I read it every single day, even when I'm too busy to read the newspaper.

However, I was reading through the awards for this year, and it dawned on me as I read through the set of "spoof" awards written as a 5-year old child would write them, with a 5-year old child's picture next to it that The Inquirer must not have an editor. It would thoroughly explain the complete disrespect for English syntax and grammar that happens so regularly around here. alt='minex'

Can you tell me if this is true? Is it just a bunch of writers with a web upload system and no editor?

Linus

[No. It's not a spoof. I am still the Ed. This picture on the right is me, aged 5½, 50 odd years back, in Aberdeen, Scotland. And I still hate Brussels Sprouts. Ed.]

Subject: A letter for you

There seems to be a lot of FSF zealots giving The Inquirer stick for some reason. I spose they think it is OK for you to bash all and sundry - but don't you dare bash my open source!

Then they have the cheek to spout eduction at you - if they 'knew' as much about other subjects as they purportedly did with the FSF then I wonder how much they would sit back and smile when le inq bashes Apple/M$/IBM/insert generic big corporate name here'.

Merry Christmas!

Richard

Subject: Intel Larrabee

Aha! We now discover that the CEO of Intel has been taking his cues from the Inquirer. At least we now understand how Intel was able to turn things around, technologically, with their new Core Duo chips. Dwight Chappell

Subject: BadVista et al

Hi there

I have been watching with great interest, the articles about BadVista.org and thier activist attitude to Microsoft and Vista.

I have been using Vista since the beta program started and I love it, even if it does have a few annoying bits and the fact that Nvidia have not released a driver for the 8800GTX yet which is very annoying, but that is not Microsoft's fault.

This is not the point of this email however.

Did you drill down on the Badvista.org navigation on the left hand side of the web page? it takes you to thier mother site where for various sums of money which they offer to extract from you, you can become a member of thier Tubeway Army!

https://www.fsf.org/associate/support_freedom/join_fsf?referrer=44612

Take a look at the above link!

$500.00 per year FSF Contributing Member (with ThankGNU) $240.00 per year FSF Above & Beyond Member $120.00 per year FSF Associate Member $60.00 per year FSF Student Member (Currently enrolled students only please) Set your own membership level: $xx.xx per year

FREEKIN RIP OFF!!!!! why would i part with my hard earned $$$$ for this crap!

It seems that like all activists and evangelists they want to take your money. I also saw the article about the msxml 5.0 broswer issue and when i first went to the site i too was asked to allow this to run.

I 100% agree with what you say and it troubles me that there are folks out there like this who love to say to you, do as i say not do as i do. One set of rules for them and another for the rest of us, Animal Farms R US!

I make my living out of Microsoft products and it has paid me well over the years so if this means being a sell out then so be it, if they would judge me as an IT whore then so what, it pays my bills and thousands of others like me.

I applaud you for standing up and saying your piece against the Grand Ayatollah and your description is not far off the mark as we have some of these fools in the office where i work and they are sickening.

Thanks for standing up for what you think is right and keep doing it, you have my support for what it is worth

Thanks

Subject: In-Fusio sues Microsoft over Halo

Merry Christmas,

This crap of sealing agreements and court documents is out of control. I realize the need on a rare basis to seal something but it has now become common practice to seal everything from public scrutiny. This tells me that we, the public would probably disapprove of many actions that are being taken.

This crap does not surprise me either coming from shady corporations and a justice system that is becoming ever and ever more twisted into perversion of true justice because of greedy lawyers and such.

Have a great day,
Glenn

Subject: mistake on article

I think "SAUCE" in the title is wrong. SHould be Source

Eric

Subject: FSF "praise"

FSF should fckng stop dissing MS and start promoting nix. Its like mac guy vs pc guy. Its moronic and only shows that if you dont have anything better to show(fsf), the obvious solutions is badmouthing the competition (MS). Most of the site is speculative at best and pure lies at worst. Reeaaaaaaaaaal nice PR move. Like shooting yourself. Somewhere important.

Cheers
