Abit says BD7-RAID "recall" a hoax

Ignore spurious emails
Thu Feb 07 2002, 16:11
SEVERAL HARDWARE sites have now had notes from motherboard manufacturer Abit saying that a note sent out recalling its BD7-RAID board appears to be a malicious hoax.

HWextreme and OCWorkbench both received letters from official Abit representatives claiming that someone registered an email address in their name and perpetrated a mass mailing.

It had said customers were asked to contact vendors from which the motherboard was bought and to get a return number for the recall.

The mail, which purports to be sent by one Steven Tyler, is completely false, said Abit, and should be ignored.

There's more on this at HW Extreme and at OC Workbench. ยต
