AMD backs HP on 'leaks '

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do

CHIP MAKER AMD has come to the defence of the maker of printer Ink, HP.

AMD CEO Hector Ruiz has defended the actions of Hewlett-Packard's Patricia Dunn saying that directors had a duty to protect themselves and their organisations from leaks of information.

According to CNET, Ruiz stopped short of actually condoning the tactics used by HP, but said told a meeting of the Commonwealth Club last night that directors can not tolerate leaks. He said that the problem was not unique to HP.

Ruiz added that he might have handled the situation differently because there is so much "openness and trust" that exists between board members at AMD. Of course he didn't rule in spying on journalists, although he didn't rule out in either. Shaking it all about seemed to be about as far as he went.
