DRAM prices will continue to plummet

The Vistula is wide and deep
Thursday, 10 May 2007, 11:51
THERE IS LITTLE PROSPECT of DRAM prices recovering, a senior exec close to Samsung told nikkei.net.

According to the wire, which interviewed Shizuka Ishikawa of Torren Devices, DRAM is in a state of oversupply which will continue to dog the industry.

And it not only rains but it pours, because according to Ishikawa, NAND memory will be in short supply by the end of the year. He said that Samsung plans to increase production by 90 per cent during this year.

Samsung is unlikely to switch production from DRAM to NAND memory, despite the slated scarcity. ยต
