LCD flat screen sales increase

Expect price rise
Fri May 11 2007, 08:36
SALES OF LCD flat screens have increased five per cent on last year, according to market research Display Search.

The figures show LCD sales have risen to $73.7 billion in 2007 from $69.4 billion in 2006.

The company said that LCD makers have started to increase the price of flat screens in response in April.

Display Search President Ross Young said that TV panel prices were also expected to rise still further in May.

Apparently the manufacturers have reigned in supply in 2007 and this will keep supply-demand balance tight through 2008 and the prices higher, Young said.
