R600 will have a big air cooler

WE LEARNED that upcoming R600 still uses an air cooler. It can do the job without the aid of water.

We know that DAAMIT has been experimenting with Air - water cooler hybrid. This is even more efficient and includes a small pump on the graphics card heatsink.

It is a nice concept but the stock version of R600 will come out with an air cooler.

The card is still on schedule for Q1, probably March launch time, Cebitish. The samples are ready and press kit should be ready in late February.

Of course it is a dual-slot cooler as you really need a lot of fan power to cool the beast. But it will be quiet, as quiet as G80's. µ
