IF are one of the happy few to have the urge to buy the forthcoming Opteron 165, then go to Martin Cracauer websites where he has compared an Opteron 939 running at 2.55GHz as well as some more tests. Instructive to say the least.

MVKtech has a review of the OCZ EB DDR PC4000 2GB memory kit. Covered with grey heatspreaders, this platinum edition runs at tight timings and at 500MHz. They're ideal if you want to overclock your system as they not only carry lifetime warranty but also support high voltages. 2GB memory is 2006's sweetspot. Good price and excellent customer support complement the nice features offered by the OCZ memory.

The german version of Tomshardware guide has been stressing two laptops live since the 2nd November 2005. They compare the AMD Turion to an Intel Centrino using laptop from Dell and Compaq respectively. Use of translators mandatory for English speakers since there's quite a bit of details.

A true dual X16 SLI motherboard with 8-phase design; that's in a few words what the Asus A8N32-SLI deluxe is. It is a premium-priced motherboard featuring some cool technologies like a huge south bridge passive cooler, dual GbE NICs with firewire, RAID SATA2 and lot more. Plus on the performance side, you won't find many boards better than this one.

OCworkbench checks the Winfast 6150K8MA-8EKRS which is a motherboard powered by the Geforce 6150 and the Nfoce 430 MCP. This pair forms probably the fastest integrated graphics mainboard currently available. While it is aiming squarely at the entry level with its core set of accessories, its specs are quite nice. SATA2 RAID, Integrated 7.1 channel and GbE - could have been worse. Not a bad board though, especially if you can find it cheap.

Finally, I'll buck the trend and offer you only one review of the new 7800GTX 512MB graphics card instead of the thousands out there by now. The card hikes up the cost of a top notch card to nearly $700, putting the cost of an SLI rig to $2000 at least. Nvidia tweaked that baby so that it can stand the test against the brute X1800XT. A larger fan, a better manufacturing process and voila, a new 7800 without the ultra Moniker. Beats everything out there, but at a very high price. µ
