AT THE end of the IDF vendor showcase Wednesday night, I found myself walking by the ATI booth. One of the people there was kind enough to let me in on a secret. "Did you hear which graphics chip company just adopted our extensions?" they breathed?

"Uhhhhh, wha" I snappily replied.
"Go over and look at the NVidia booth".
"I, err, what? Umm, why?" I snapped back with the wit of an Inquirer reporter.
"Just go".

I went over to the booth, and even took a picture.

Nothing to show, a dark, empty booth. I want back to ATI and reported. "Wha…Err..Duh" I said waving my hands.

They pointed me to the upper right hand corner of the booth to show the proprietary extensions that some naughty prankster had put there.

Then I got the joke. If anyone from NVidia is reading this, it wasn't ATI, really, but they found it much funnier than I did. If they ever tell me the name of the bad person who carried out this travesty, I will post it asap, I promise. µ
